Overview

Big Music (“the App”) is developed by Simon Schoen, based in Hamburg, Germany. Your privacy is important to us. This privacy policy explains how the App handles your information.

The short version: Big Music plays music stored on your own device. It does not connect to the internet, and we do not collect, transmit, share, or sell any personal information.

Data Storage

What Data is Stored

To work, the App keeps the following data locally on your device:

Music Library: The list of songs found on your device, read from the device’s music library
Playlists & Favourites: Playlists and favourite songs you set up in the App
Playback Position: The last song and position, so music can continue where it stopped
App Settings: Your preferences such as text size, colours and optional features

Where Data is Stored

All data is stored exclusively on your device. The App does not connect to the internet and does not request internet access, so your data never leaves your device and is not transmitted to any servers. Uninstalling the App deletes it.

Data We Do Not Collect

We do not collect, store, or process:

Personal information (name, email, address)
Device identifiers or advertising IDs
Usage analytics or statistics
Location data
Any data transmitted to external servers

Third-Party Services

The App does not integrate any third-party analytics, advertising, or tracking services, and it has no account or subscription.

Permissions

The App requests the following device permissions to function properly:

Permission	Purpose
Music and Audio (Android) / Media Library (iOS)	To find and play the music stored on your device
Notifications (Android)	To show playback controls in the notification area and on the lock screen
Background Playback & Keep Awake	To keep music playing when the screen is off or another app is open

These permissions are used solely for the App’s music playback. No data from these permissions is collected or transmitted.

Children’s Privacy

The App is not directed at children and does not knowingly collect any personal information from anyone. Since no personal data is collected from any user, the App is safe for users of all ages.

Data Retention & Deletion

Since all data is stored locally on your device:

Retention: Data remains on your device until you delete it within the App or uninstall the App
Deletion: Uninstalling the App will remove all stored data. Your music files themselves are not changed or deleted by the App.

Your Rights

Under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and other applicable laws, you have rights regarding your personal data. However, since we do not collect or process any personal data, these rights are automatically fulfilled:

Right to Access: All your data is already accessible to you within the App
Right to Deletion: You can delete your data at any time by removing playlists and favourites or uninstalling the App

Changes to This Policy

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. The new version will be published at this address, with a new effective date at the top of this page. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
