Intervals: Simple Custom Timers

Overview

Intervals (“the App”) is developed by Simon Schoen, based in Hamburg, Germany. Your privacy is important to us. This privacy policy explains how the App handles your information.

The short version: Intervals stores all your data locally on your device. We do not collect, transmit, or share any personal information.

Data Storage

What Data is Stored

The App stores the following data locally on your device:

• Timer Programs: Custom interval timers you create, including block names, durations, colors, and repeat settings
• App Settings: Your preferences such as selected notification sound, vibration toggle, and screen wake lock setting

Where Data is Stored

All data is stored exclusively on your device using local storage. Your data never leaves your device and is not transmitted to any servers.

Data Backup & Export

The App includes an export feature that allows you to save your programs as a JSON file. This file is stored locally on your device, and you control where it is saved or shared. We do not have access to your exported data.

Data We Do Not Collect

We do not collect, store, or process:

• Personal information (name, email, address)
• Device identifiers or advertising IDs
• Usage analytics or statistics
• Location data
• Any data transmitted to external servers

Third-Party Services

The App does not integrate any third-party analytics, advertising, or tracking services.

The App may use the following platform services:

• App Store / Google Play: If you choose to rate the app, you will be directed to the respective app store. This interaction is governed by Apple’s or Google’s privacy policies.

Permissions

The App requests the following device permissions to function properly:

Permission	Purpose
Notifications	To alert you when timer blocks change, even when the app is in the background
Vibration	To provide haptic feedback during timer transitions (optional, can be disabled)
Exact Alarms (Android)	To ensure precise timing for interval transitions
Background Audio (iOS)	To play transition sounds while the app is in the background

These permissions are used solely for the app’s core timer functionality. No data from these permissions is collected or transmitted.

Children’s Privacy

The App does not knowingly collect any personal information from children. Since no personal data is collected from any user, the App is safe for users of all ages.

Data Retention & Deletion

Since all data is stored locally on your device:

• Retention: Data remains on your device until you delete it within the app or uninstall the app
• Deletion: Uninstalling the app will remove all stored data. You can also delete individual programs within the app.

Your Rights

Under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and other applicable laws, you have rights regarding your personal data. However, since we do not collect or process any personal data, these rights are automatically fulfilled:

• Right to Access: All your data is already accessible to you within the app
• Right to Deletion: You can delete your data at any time by removing programs or uninstalling the app
• Right to Portability: You can export your data using the app’s export feature

Changes to This Policy

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. Any changes will be reflected with a new effective date at the top of this page. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
